Challenge
Afocus was tasked with refactoring ShootSimple's entire web app from the ground up. Due to a short timeline, our team had to come up with the right technical solution to speed up development time. A small team composed of a Project Manager, two developers and a QC Manager was quickly set up to get the project started.
Solution
We leveraged the Laravel framework to build the platform from scratch. The web app includes a credit-based system that allows real estate agents to subscribe to a paid plan to upload their files. Once the videos and pictures are optimized, they're automatically sent back to the real estate agents thanks to a notification system. Afocus also leveraged AWS's custom server solutions to improve file upload performance.
Outcome
ShootSimple's new platform has been praised by its users for its ease of use and its straightforward features, allowing the company to become one of the best image-optimization players in the UK.
